GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - Sometimes, all ya gotta do is just ask. Case in point, we got an email from a guy who says his wife is trying to win tickets to see Taylor Swift in concert at the Georgia Dome. It's a scavenger hunt sponsored by a Birmingham radio station, and one of the items is a picture of yourself on television holding a picture of Taylor Swift. Hey, it's worth 50 points!
Miranda Patterson is a college student, an employee at Staples in Guntersville, and a devout Taylor Swift fan.
"Major, major. Been determined to win this ever since it started," Miranda says.
Birmingham radio station 103.7 "The-Q" is giving away a pair of tickets to Swift's Georgia Dome concert later this month plus a VIP package that includes a backstage pass and the chance to meet Swift. For Miranda, it would be a dream come true.
"If you win this, what are you going to say to Taylor Swift when you're in Atlanta," we asked?
"I just hope I don't faint, honestly. That's all I can think about. I'll probably get her to take a selfie with me," Miranda explained.
To get there, contestants have a list of selfies they have to take, various places, with various people or objects. Miranda thought the hardest Taylor task was to score a selfie with Nick Saban.
"So I wrote Saban a letter, his assistant first told me no. And I wasn't taking no for an answer. I guess one of his personal assistants gave me their phone number and was like hey, meet us here at 'Hey Coach' and I'll make sure you get your selfie. I got it and that just made me more motivated to go get it, get this finished and win it," she said.
The last item on the list is to get on television holding the picture of Taylor Swift. And so here you go, Miranda. We'll be expecting a copy of the selfie with you and Taylor Swift in Atlanta.
Miranda says right now she believes she's in the lead. The only task she hasn't completed now is to get a selfie with someone who has been on stage with Swift. She says she has a plan, but says it's a secret.
