2 dead after murder-suicide at medical building off of Pulaski Pike

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Huntsville Police said two people died Monday in a murder-suicide at a Huntsville medical building near Pulaski Pike.

A man and woman were rushed to the hospital in critical condition around 4:20 p.m. Monday. According to Huntsville Police Lt. Stacy Bates, the shooting appears to be domestic in nature.

Police said when they arrived at the the crime scene, located at the parking lot of 751 Pleasant Row, they found Heather Nicole Green, 26, inside her vehicle with a gunshot wound and Jessie Daniel Green, 28, lying in the parking lot, also with a gunshot wound.

Witnesses said Jessie Green walked up to Heather Green's car and shot her, then turned the gun on himself, according to police reports. Both were taken to the hospital, where they died as a result of their injuries.

Witnesses told police the couple's three children were inside the car when the shooting happened.  They ran for safety and are in the care of the Department of Human Resources.

Police say Jessie Green was arrested for domestic violence last month.

Heather Green's family has set up a Gofundme account to help with her funeral expenses.

Editor's Note: It was originally reported that the shooting scene was at the Huntsville Utilities building, but that was preliminary information released by police. The crime scene was located next door to the Huntsville Utilities building.
