MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala.-Caroline Ruth Inman, 24, is  back in jail and now being charged with second-degree escape after she ran from the Muscle Shoals City Jail while being transported Thursday.

Muscle Shoals police say Inman ran off while a jailer was trying to transport her and three other inmates to court Thursday afternoon. The escape occurred about 2:20 p.m. She was located in Florence and taken into custody about 7:15 p.m. Thursday.

Although Inman did not impose any threat, two surrounding schools were still placed on lock down.

Police also say she traded her flip flops for a pair of shoes with another inmate so she could run better. She then went to a house behind the Police Department and asked for some clothes. The man did not know her, but provided her with a t-shirt.

Inman was being held in jail for unpaid traffic tickets which totaled to about $900.

She is currently in the Lauderdale County Detention Center.
