ATHENS, Ala.- Three people are in jail in Athens after a 74-year-old man told police he was robbed at home on Thursday night. According to Athens Police, Jodi Strange Ferrell, Mary Alice Beard and Vantella Lamont Malone walked into the man's home uninvited, picked up a clothesline and demanded the man give it to them for scrap metal. When the victim refused, he says Malone grabbed him around the neck while the other two were inside the house searching through the victim's belongings.

The victim then reached inside his pocket, pulled out a pistol and pointed it in the man's face. He pulled the trigger, but the pistol did not fire according to police. This is when the three suspects ran away from the home.

The victim reported $320.00 missing from the incident.
