Independent Musical Productions is about to begin their new season with a classic. "Jesus Christ Superstar," with music by Andrew Lloyd Weber and lyrics by Tim Rice, is set to open September 11 and runs through Sept. 20th. There are two performances to choose from, an evening performance at 7:30PM or a matinee performance at 2:30PM. Tickets range from $18-$30. The venue for this production is the MainStage located at Lee High School. This is the 23rd season and the 23rd year of outreach to train and mentor students involved with Performing Arts Magnet.

On the Friday and Saturday performance nights of Jesus Christ Superstar there is a special offer attendees. The Bottle and Humphreys, in downtown Huntsville, is offering a 10% discount on dinner if you show proof of tickets for Superstar. In addition, the City of Huntsville is providing trolley services at 7:00 p.m. from The Bottle/Humphreys to Lee High School and returning back to the original pickup location at 10:00 p.m. A suggestion is to be at the The Bottle for dinner by 5:00 p.m. Humphreys might be the better choice if you can't get to dinner until 6:00. Be sure your server knows you have a 7:00 trolley pickup.
