GUNTERSVLLE, Ala. (WHNT) - After back to back 10 win seasons the Guntersville Wildcats expect nothing less going into 2015. This year Guntersville hopes the regular season success turns into success in the playoffs, but the team knows it has to take care of business before it can look too far down the road. "Last year we won 12 games, six of them were by less than one touchdown." Head Coach Lace Reece said. "We realize the difference between winning and losing is very small in many cases, so we have to continue to do the little things right if we want to continue to win those close games."
The players feel like the experience of being in and winning so many close games will help the team in it's quest for a state championship. Senior Wide receiver Harrison Skinner told WHNT Sports Director Ryan Cody, "It feels great to have some seniors that were a part of that and bring back some experience. We can pass it down to the younger group coming up, because our team is the majority underclassmen. To pass it on to them and hopefully they carry on the tradition after us."
Guntersville opens the 2015 season August 28th vs. North Jackson.
