FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) - 16 seniors signed letters of intent to play college football from the 2014 Florence team that made it to the state semifinals. Head Coach JB Wallace has a new senior class to go to battle with this season, and while the group is talented, it also has one of the best traits a coach can ask for. "They're workers, they aren't talkers they are workers and that's always good to have. Anybody can talk a big game, but this senior class we have, they work." Coach Wallace said. "That's one of the things I respect, We had a lot of leaders last year. A lot of vocal leaders and leaders on the field. These guys are leaders on the field."
The leader of the team is Mississippi State commit Erroll Thompson, but the linebacker is one of 30 seniors on this team, all of them ready to finish what they started one year ago. "We are coming in with a little chip on our shoulder, we have some unfinished business left. It was a fun ride to the semi finals, but we definitely want to go all the way this year." Senior offensive lineman Ethan Burbank told WHNT News 19's Chase Horn.
Florence opens the season August 21st against Shades Valley.
