SMD Symposium: Help for job seekers, interesting displays

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The Space and Missile Defense Symposium continues today at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville.

The American Freedom Foundation is holding hiring and training workshops today, Wednesday, for active-duty members looking to transition, veterans and spouses. Those events are in the East Hall of the VBC.

Attendees need to have resumes in hand, and be prepared to network. You'll have the chance to talk with employers, submit qualifications and participate in job interviews.

Workshops scheduled for today include, but are not limited to: mental readiness, confidence-building, presentation skills and interviewing techniques

The displays in the North Hall of the VBC also continue.

One innovation on display, autonomous drones for home protection. It's called Chrysalis. The Automated Aerial Vehicle is made to check out packages left on a home's front porch to check for safety. The military may also be able to use similar applications at military bases around the world.
