HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – The Salvation Army feeds hundreds of people every day at the kitchen at 305 Seminole Drive. To feed that many hungry bellies for three meals a day takes a lot of work, and they are in need of some help.

“I think that when you help some of the needy people then you can see what’s out there and maybe what you don’t see in your every day life,” Head Cook and Kitchen Manager Sean Russell said.

They have openings Monday through Friday for lunch, 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m., and for dinner 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. The staff is also asking for assistance on the fourth and fifth Sundays of each month from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Volunteers are typically needed 30 minutes prior to meal time and 30 minutes afterwards to help clean.

All kitchen volunteers must be at least 18 years old. For more information, you can visit their website at http://salvationarmyalm.org/huntsville/ or call (256)536-8876.
