(CNN) — ISIS captive Tomislav Salopek is believed to have been beheaded, the SITE Intelligence Group said Wednesday, citing an apparent image of the hostage posted online. Salopek was kidnapped on July 22 in the Cairo area. CNN cannot independently confirm the authenticity of the image. Croatian and Egyptian officials have not confirmed Salopek’s death. An official at the Egyptian Interior Ministry’s press office said: “We have heard the news, but we are working to confirm it.”
