HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Two Huntsville veterans are standing guard at the Armed Forces Career Center on University Drive.

The men showed up Monday morning.  Huntsville Police have been by to check on them but left.

The men say they plan to be out there all day today, and will return throughout the week and further on until the law is changed to allow military recruiters to be armed.

The Career Center is located at 6125 University Drive, in the shopping center with Phil Sandoval’s and Burlington Coat Factory.

Alabama Governor Robert Bentley is moving ahead with plans for National Guard members to be armed.

Last Thursday, a gunman opened fire on two military recruiting centers in Chattanooga, killing four Marines and a sailor.  Police shot Mohammad Abdulazeez dead.
