ATHENS, Ala. – The Limestone County Commission is giving you an opportunity to watch how government works.

The commission will start streaming commission meetings.  After the meetings are over, they will be archived for anyone to watch.

The meetings are the first and third Mondays of the month at 10 a.m.

Commission Chairman Mark Yarbrough says it’s an effort to make government as transparent as possible.

“What this does…. you know, people have to read about the commission meeting for years in Limestone County the next day… now they can pull it up on their smart phone, they can pull it up on their laptop, their iPad, and can see it live as it’s happening,” Yarbrough said.
