HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – The crew at the Liberty Learning Foundation has provided free educational programs and a ten week civic-minded curriculum to local 5th graders since 2010. The projects focus on character education, career development, and financial literacy.

Before the start of the holiday weekend, some of the staff produced a fun video of themselves with average people singing the National Anthem. It’s a light-hearted video showing the nonprofit’s character, Libby Liberty, entering an elevator with the staff and singing the Star Spangled Banner acapella amongst bystanders. Initially, the people already in the elevator did not join the crew in singing. But, as the old saying goes, if you can’t beat them, join them.

“Really we were just trying to give everybody a laugh, but then at the same time we do want people to know about our cause, going around and teaching kids about civics and character and financial literacy,” Liberty Learning Foundation’s Steven Jackson said.
