BESSEMER, Ala. (AP) — Jefferson County sheriff’s officials say they’re searching for a McCalla man in connection with the deaths of his wife and two children.

Officials said in a statement Wednesday that 47-year-old Stephen Sean Hutcheson is wanted on capital murder charges. Officials have said 49-year-old Doris Hutcheson, 14-year-old Kimberly Hutcheson and 12-year-old Peyton Hutcheson were fatally shot and their bodies were found after a relative called authorities for a welfare check.

Sheriff’s officials say Hutcheson is suspected of meeting his girlfriend at a hotel after his wife and children were shot Friday night. Authorities say Hutcheson’s girlfriend has cooperated with investigators and isn’t suspected in the shootings. The woman’s identity hasn’t been released.

Sheriff’s officials say Hutcheson remains at large and could be in a 2005 Dodge Stratus with Alabama tag 1AS7156.
