HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Former UAH hockey player Colby Ross, 29, passed away on June 15, leaving behind friends and family.

Colby Ross and the entire Ross family have been an active part of the Huntsville hockey community for over 30 years, according to UAH.

Growing up in a hockey family, Colby played many years for youth and travel hockey programs. His Father, Doug, was the head coach at UAH for 25 years. Colby’s older brother, Jared was an integral figure on UAH hockey team before leaving to play professional hockey throughout the US and Europe.  Giving back to the children in the community, and furthering student education has always a forefront in the Ross family’s mind, and now they could use our help as well.

Former teammates started a GoFundMe to assist with college costs for Colby’s daughter, Darby.

The coroner is investigating the cause of death; but as of now, no foul play is suspected.
