Huntsville, Ala. (WHNT) One of the oldest futbol clubs in the world's most popular league is visiting six U.S. cities this month to recruit. Two coaches from Stoke City FC were in Huntsville this weekend to evaluate possible talent for their developmental team in England. Jimmy Ball and one other assistant with the club coached up a few dozen members of the Huntsville Futbol Club.

"We think there is a lot of talent over here, so they sent us over with our expertise in the development field of players to look at these players, evaluate them and work with them so we can get a good understanding of where they're at," Ball said during the last of a three day Huntsville session.

Once the evaluations are complete, Ball will report his findings back to Stoke City FC and possibly offer a roster spot. The chances are slim, but several American players have made a splash across the pond. "We've had players who have come over and done very very well. Landon Donovan went over to Everton and was a revelation over there. He did fantastic and I can only see that becoming greater."
