MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WHNT) – The Alabama Department of Corrections issued an alert for an escaped inmate just after 10:30 p.m. Monday.

Authorities say Jimmie Lee Collins escaped from Red Eagle Work Center just after 9 p.m. Red Eagle Work Center is located in Montgomery.

Collins was sentenced to 40 years in prison for robbery.

The Department of Corrections lists Collins at 6’1″ and 169 pounds. The 53-year-old does not have any scars or tattoos listed on his profile.
