(CBS) – One of the biggest names in country music is taking on what she views as sexist comments that advise radio stations to limit playing songs by female artists.

Radio executive Keith Hill is on the receiving end of Miranda Lambert’s fiery comments after Hill told CBS News “my stations win by taking females out.”

CBS News reports Hill advises radio stations to limit female artists to about 15 percent of its playlists.  He says listeners are more likely to tune out if those playlists include a mix of more songs featuring female artists.

Lambert lashed out at those sentiments on Twitter. The Grammy-wining musician strongly disagreed with Hill’s comments and vowed to promote and support female singer/songwriters.
