Police investigating deadly train incident near Oakwood Ave. & Lee High Drive

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Oakwood Avenue is back open after a deadly incident involving a train.  Police say the train struck and killed a man early Monday around 2 a.m.

The man who died has been identified as Justin Hayes Lamon, 28.

Police say a Norfolk Southern train was headed westbound, just north of Oakwood Avenue and Lee High Drive, when the conductor saw someone lying on the tracks.  Lamon never moved and was struck by the train. He died at the scene.

Police continue to investigate further.
