Part of Hwy. 72 in Jackson County shut down due to traffic accident

STEVENSON, Ala. (WHNT) – Police say both directions of Highway 72 are shut down in Stevenson, in northeast Alabama, because of a traffic accident.

It happened at approximately 12 p.m. Monday.  The two-vehicle wreck is at 38523 Highway 72, police say.

First responders and Stevenson Police are trying to clear the roads as quickly as possible.

No word yet on who was injured in the crash.
