VIDEO: Deputies arrest missing Stevenson woman after car chase

WOODVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - The Jackson County Sheriff tells us a woman reported missing over the weekend actually stole a truck in Stevenson.  Ashley Grider Kennedy, 34, is now in custody.

Sheriff Chuck Phillips says Jackson County deputies got in a chase with her in the stolen vehicle on Sunday evening. They say she tried to run over a deputy who was putting down spike strips in Woodville.

They say in the process, she flipped the truck she was driving.  She was taken to the hospital, and it's not clear how serious her injuries are.

The chase ended in Woodville on Highway 72, near the intersection with County Road 63.

Deputies say Kennedy will face several charges including theft, attempting to elude law enforcement, and attempted murder.
