HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT)-- Fire and EMS crews responded to the Alabama A&M University Agribition Center Saturday.

Thankfully it was all make-believe, a demonstration organized by the Tennessee Valley Women in Agriculture for their Family Farm and Fleece Day event there. The event showcased arts, crafts, animals, and agriculture-related businesses in the area.

But the demonstration of a mock farm accident was an important part for organizer Margaret Mazikowski to feature. She wanted the children present to learnĀ about farm safety, and feel comfortable around first responders.

"It's not always big machinery, big stuff," she said. "It [can be] something as small as children playing with stuff that can be all in fun, but it can turn into a disaster pretty quick."

After the demonstration, families mingled with first responders, k9's, and got up close to a medical chopper and a fire engine.
