MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – A judge issued an arrest warrant for James Lawhorne on Friday.  He’s the former CEO of the Cypress Creek Organic Farms.

Lawhorne reportedly removed his ankle bracelet and fled the area.

In December Judge Smith signed off on a bond motion reduced Lawhorne’s $600,000 bond to $100,000.

Lawhorne was released from the Madison County Detention Center, but was supposed to wear an ankel monitor to make sure he stayed within Madison County lines.

Lawhorne was arrested in December on 23 charges – including theft by deception. In accordance with the bond reduction, he must avoid all contact with victims in this case.

Lawhorne was the subject of a WHNT News 19 investigation in 2013 after suspicions arose regarding his business practices. He sold greenhouses for people to grow organic tomatoes here in North Alabama, and later moved to North Carolina to sell organic worms.
