TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WHNT) - No. 1 Kentucky quieted Alabama's sellout crowd early and remained unbeaten with a 70-48 win over the Crimson Tide at Coleman Coliseum on Saturday.
A 10-0 run put the Wildcats up 12-4 and they took a 35-17 lead at the half. Alabama cut the lead to 39-30 at 12:47, but center Jimmie Taylor got his fourth foul and the Crimson Tide's size went to the bench.
Kentucky (17-0, 4-0 SEC) went on a 16-2 run, extending the lead to 20 and creating a deficit too big for the Tide (12-5, 2-2) to overcome.
Kentucky didn't use the platoon system of running five in and five out for most of the game, but its combination of former 5-star recruits future projected NBA Draft lottery picks had success.
