The 9th Annual Be Ready Camp is set for March 24th through 28th at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center.  Sixth graders from across the state have the opportunity to learn citizen preparedness and participation through a modified Community Emergency Response training program.

Applicants who wish to compete for one of 96 camp slots must submit a 300-500 word essay answering the question, “What impact can a disaster have on my community, and what can I do to prepare for and respond to a disaster?”  Please clearly label all submissions with name, address, telephone number, county, and school.  Be sure to include a note from the parent/guardian permitting child to attend.

All Alabama residents who are currently in the sixth-grade are eligible to attend.

Submissions are due by January 31, 2015.
