High-speed chase in the Scottsboro area leaves one man in the hospital

SCOTTSBORO, Ala. (WHNT)- A high speed chase led to deputies shutting down all lanes of Highway 79 south of Scottsboro.

Deputies tell WHNT News 19 that the chase started at a traffic stop on Highway 431 near the Honeycomb area.

According to deputies, when they originally stopped the vehicle, they found meth, guns, and moonshine, but then the driver took off.

They chased him all the way to Highway 79 into Jackson County. The driver later crashed the vehicle.

Authorities tell WHNT they took two people into custody, but one of them is in the hospital for treatment.
