HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - Ask anyone from Monte Sano to South Memorial Parkway and they'll tell you, whether a native son or a transplant - Huntsvillians love Huntsville. Heritage and history are a big part of the love affair with our fine city. That's a shared sentiment Rocket City Brand decided to capitalize on with a new collection of vintage T-shirts celebrating iconic Huntsville landmarks.
If you want relive your days getting down at the Plush Horse nightclub, sipping lemonade at The Mall or catching a flick at Whitesburg Drive-In Theater these garments are perfect for you.
But Rocket City Brand spokesman Will Breland explains, it's not just about taking a fashionable stroll down memory lane - it's a matter of pride.
"Huntsville's such a great city and you know, it is the hub of north Alabama and so we wanted to provide a way for Huntsville residents and folks familiar with Huntsville to show their pride for the city."
The shirts are already available online but the brand is opening a storefront Friday Nov. 14 at 4:00 p.m. at Clinton Row in downtown Huntsville.
"Get 'em while they last," Breland says of the first batch of retro designs. "We will have five more designs rolling out soon."
While the inspirations are timeless, all Rocket City Brand designs are available for a limited time only. Future designs will include more iconic designs from Huntsville and across north Alabama. With this cold weather finally settling in across the Tennessee Valley, maybe we can hope for some awesome throwback sweatshirts soon.
