ATHENS, Ala. (WHNT) – Athens Police arrested a man Sunday in a domestic violence case.  They say Ronnie Lee Pylant, Jr. is the man charged.

Pylant is charged with domestic violence by strangulation or suffocation. Police say this stems from an incident that happened October 14.  Officers took a report from Pylant’s girlfriend, who said Pylant got mad at her because she didn’t know how to back up his truck that had a manual transmission.

She said Pylant hit her and then grabbed her by the throat to the point she almost passed out.

Police obtained a warrant for Pylant’s arrest on October 15.  They arrested him November 9.

Pylant was booked at the Athens Police Department and then transferred to the Limestone County Jail.
