DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) – Decatur Police have charged a man with second-degree assault following a stabbing early Friday morning.  Police say two neighbors got in an argument and the situation became violent.

Police found George Hollis Cantrell in the alley behind the home, and took him in for questioning.  They announced charges against Cantrell on Friday afternoon.  He will be transferred to the Morgan County Jail on $3,000 bond.

Smith, the victim, is expected to make a full recovery, police said.

Officers believe alcohol may have been a factor in the fight.
