Grant man seriously hurt in wreck involving tractor-trailer, pickup truck on Hwy. 72 East

MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – Alabama State Troopers are investigating a wreck involving a tractor trailer and a pickup truck on Highway 72 east, near Gurley.

The wreck happened around 7 a.m. Wednesday in the westbound lanes and caused traffic delays for drivers.

Authorities say the driver of the pickup truck ran into the back of an 18-wheeler. First responders had to cut off both the doors and roof of the truck to get the man out of the pickup truck. Troopers identified him as Bradley Chandler, 32, of Grant.  He was taken by Medflight to Huntsville Hospital.

As of Wednesday afternoon, a hospital spokesperson said Chandler was in good condition.

The driver of the tractor trailer was not hurt.  Damage to the tractor trailer was minimal.
