HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – A refrigeration unit in the Lee High cafeteria caught on fire Monday evening, causing sprinklers to go off and fire crews to rush to the scene.
The fire was isolated to a single refrigerator unit with a sliding glass door that had ice cream-type products in it, according to a Huntsville City Schools spokesperson.
Crews are cleaning up the mess caused by the fire, but school will not be affected Tuesday.
Huntsville Fire & Rescue Capt. Frank McKenzie told The Huntsville Times and AL.com the fire was extinguished quickly. The fire produced a lot of smoke but little to no damage, according to McKenzie.
Investigators are looking into what caused the fire.
