MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – One man is in Huntsville Hospital with life-threatening injuries after his truck crashed into a tree in Madison County.

The crash happened around 5:00 a.m. on Clutts Road just north of Capshaw Road.

State troopers say the driver of the truck lost control, flipped and slammed into a tree.

The truck sustained heavy damage.

Authorities were able to free the driver in about 15 minutes.

Monrovia volunteer firefighters as well as medics from HEMSI and the Madison County Rescue Squad responded to the wreck.

Authorities closed Clutts Road for more than an hour while state troopers conducted their investigation.
