HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Huntsville Police are looking for the person they believe shot a man in the back Wednesday night.

It happened on the 3200 block of Uvalde Lane around 10:15 p.m.

Police found 42-year-old Lashawn Slaughter shot in the back. Police say Slaughter told them he just pulled up to a friend’s house and got out of the car when someone struck him with a pipe and then shot him.

HEMSI paramedics rushed Slaughter to Huntsville Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Investigators say the shooter may have driven off in an older model Honda Civic.

Police do not believe this is related to another shooting that happened around the same time.

No arrests have been made at this time.
