ALBERTVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – A 12-year-old boy was hit by a car Wednesday afternoon in Albertville.

It happened around 3 p.m. on West Main Street at the intersection of Windy Lane.  Police say the boy has a broken leg and was taken by ambulance to Marshall Medical Center South.

A helicopter was called, but couldn’t fly due to the weather.

The car that hit the boy is being towed.  Traffic is almost cleared up in the area.

WHNT News 19 is working to get an update on the circumstances.

Dear Unknown…”All I can say is where in the world are parents these days?” REALLY?? He’s 12 years old, not 2!! He SHOULD be able to ride a bike without being worried about being hit by a car!! Drivers on these roads need to slow down and pay attention.

You can buy insurance for helicopter rides. I think it is 400 dollars for one year but you can ride free for a year. A young woman went to Europe for a backpacking trip paid for the extra insurance the deluxe package, which wasn’t all that expensive. She was backpacking and fell off a ledge, got hurt kinda bad. She was stunned at the help and private vehicles, helicopters and they flew her back on a private jet back to the US. First Class back home. I am pretty sure you can deduct if off your taxes as health provider insurance.
