HUNTSVILLE, Ala. –  Former NASA engineer and Huntsville resident Mark Bray says he is a political outsider, but due to the gridlock in D.C., he feels now is the time to bring new ideas to Capitol Hill.

Bray stopped by the WHNT News 19 studio for this week’s Leadership Perspectives interview.

Bray will face off against incumbent (R) Rep. Mo Brooks for the 5th District Congressional seat.

To get on the November 4 ballot, Bray was required to collect 6,886 signatures from current registered voters in the congressional district. He said he ended up with 7,763 signers following a three-month petition drive.

Let’s not forget that Mo Brooks voted FOR the furlough of govt employees less than a year ago. He helped create a huge mess that affected a lot of people in his own district. He doesn’t have the best interest for his own people. This is a way for us to fire him.
