Huntsville, Ala. – (WHNT) The Mackey and Rimington Award preseason watch lists came out Tuesday morning, and both include several players from Alabama and Auburn. Neither team has ever had a Mackey Award winner but there is a decent chance to break that streak in 2014. Auburn’s C.J. Uzomah and Alabama’s O.J. Howard are up for the honor of the nation’s top tight end.
The Rimington trophy goes annually to the nation’s top center, which former Alabama star Barrett Jones won in 2012. His replacement Ryan Kelly is up for the award this season and so is Auburn’s Reece Dismukes.
