TRINITY, Ala. (WHNT) – The new Jack Daniel’s Cooperage in Trinity is officially open for business.
The company celebrated the Cooperage’s grand opening Monday at the Mallard Fox West Industrial Complex in Trinity, south of Alabama Highway 20.
This business is bringing in more than 200 jobs to the Tennessee Valley. Workers will produce a critical ingredient for the company’s Tennessee Whiskey, the solid American white oak barrels. They are toasted and charred to mature the whiskey.
Tony Stockton is the Executive Director of the Lawrence County Industrial Development Board.
“We welcome the Jack Daniel Cooperage and their employees to Lawrence County and appreciate the economic impact this industry will have on our county,” Stockton said.
Governor Robert Bentley was also part of the celebration.
Production has already started at the facility, and workers currently produce approximately 400 barrels per day. The company expects that number to rise around 700 barrels in the coming weeks.
Wood for the barrels come from the company’s mills in Stevenson and Clifton, Tennessee.
The Governor’s Officer says that Jack Daniel’s Whiskey is the number one selling whiskey brand in the world.
