GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Two Marshall County men are facing charges after police say they raped a young girl.

Guntersville police say a grand jury indicted Stephen Baratz and Michael Watkins on charges of first and second degree rape. Investigators say Baratz is facing a second degree sodomy charge as well.

Police say the two men met the minor online and agreed to meet near her home.

Investigators say the men picked up the girl in a truck and drove from Guntersville to the Marshall County line at DeKalb County, and then back to Guntersville.

They say the men left the girl in a ditch.

Investigators say the two men didn’t meet the girl on Facebook, but couldn’t elaborate on what website it was.
