Hotter this week; looking ahead to the 4th of July forecast

The 4th of July is almost here. Folks are making plans to grill out, watch fireworks, or possibly take the boat out on Lake Guntersville.

Right now, there could be a few showers in the forecast. At this point, we aren’t expecting a big deal. The chance of rain is only in the 10%-20% range Friday into the evening.

The bigger story is the hotter temperatures we’ll see this week. Expect lower 90s today and middle 90s on Tuesday. Upper 80s to near 90 degree temperatures are likely the rest of the week with only an isolated shower or storm. Though our chances of rain are low, they could still pack a punch and drop a quick .25″-.50″ of rain on your lawn.

Rain Chances

There is a tropical disturbance to keep in eye on this week. It’s off Florida. Don’t expect any impacts along the Alabama beaches. Just a few rip currents along the Florida east coast, Georgia, and the Carolinas this week. We’ll see if it becomes a tropical storm later on.
