Elisa Ferrell, Former President of Huntsville Council of PTA’s, to run for District 3 school board

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Former Huntsville Council of PTA’s President Elisa Ferrell announced her candidacy for Huntsville School Board in District 3 Monday.

Current District 3 board representative Jennie Robinson is leaving her seat to run for the Huntsville City Council.

Ferrell served two terms as President of the Council of PTA’s, President of the Grissom High PTSA, the Grissom Building Programming Committee and the Huntsville City Schools Policy Committee.  She also volunteered at Mountain Gap Elementary and Farley Elementary.

“I care about the future of our children and want to work to ensure all students have a world class education and be prepared to compete globally.  I want to continue the great leadership that Jennie Robinson provided and work to keep our school board strong. I believe we are heading in the right direction,” said Ferrell.

Elisa Ferrell works in Adult Education at Willowbrook Baptist Church. She graduated from Scripps College and is married with five children.  The election is August 26.
