Muscle Shoals, Ala. (WHNT) - It's an idea that started with an email, a Facebook page and a video. Kelly Mardis and Ashley Beane are Mary Kay unit leaders in the Shoals. They said after learning about the summer weather in the Middle East, they had to take action.

"Well we wanted to find a way to give back to our soldiers. They do so much for us. So we decided that we would run this project that we heard about to donate sunscreen, after sun replenishing gel and lip protector to our soldiers," said Mardis.

Their goal is to send two thousand sun care packages to soldiers overseas. Each package is estimated to cost forty dollars, but with help of the USO of Atlanta and the Mary Kay Corporation, it will match every care package for two soldiers on the field.

"Our goal is to finish it up by June 28 so we can have everything ordered by June the 30 and get that done by July."
