Three charged in overnight robbery & kidnapping in Florence

FLORENCE, Ala.  – Three men were arrested and charged with robbery and kidnapping after police received information about a man being held against his will.

Florence Police say Marcus Rice, 18, of Florence, Carlos Dominique Alan, 25, of Florence, and Darius Marquise Freeman, 22, of Muscle Shoals, were arrested early Monday morning and charged with  Robbery 1st and Kidnapping 1st.

Police say the three men took a Florence man hostage following an altercation in the Carver Homes area of Florence and drove him to Nashville, Tenn. at gun point.

The three men returned to Florence with the victim still in the vehicle, where officers were waiting.

The victim suffered minor injuries from the robbery, but was unharmed during the kidnapping, police said. Police also recovered several firearms and other evidence following the arrests.

The three suspects were taken into custody without incident and are currently being held in the Lauderdale County Detention Center on $100,000 bond.
