PRICEVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) –  Priceville police have released a man taken in for questioning following the discovery of his girlfriend’s body early Friday morning.

Assistant Police Chief Ron DeWeese says the body of 33-year-old Stacey Loren Jones was found in her bedroom just after 5 a.m. Friday. Police declined to speculate how she died, but her body has been sent to a state forensics lab in Huntsville for an autopsy.

A man identified as her boyfriend was taken into custody at the scene on 163 Meadow Lane in Priceville. Police say he was questioned and later released.

Investigators declined to speculate whether the woman’s death was a homicide, saying autopsy results would help determine that.  DeWeese did confirm police have been called to the residence several times in the past. He did not have information regarding the type of calls they were, though.

Decatur Police, Morgan County Sheriff’s Deputies and members of the Morgan County District Attorney’s office were all called to the scene Friday morning to assist in the investigation.
