HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – A Madison County jury found a former Huntsville teacher guilty of two counts of sodomy.  The jury returned the verdict against Brett Naff around 2:30 p.m. Friday after deliberating for about three hours.

Naff used to teach at the Country Day School.  A former student accused him of sexually abusing her between 2004 and 2006.   She reported it to police in 2012.

Naff is scheduled to be sentenced on July 25.

The Country Day School released this statement following the conclusion of the trial:

The Country Day School has been made aware that the case against former teacher, Brett Naff has come to a conclusion. This case stems from an accusation made by a former student from ten years ago.

We respect the decision of the jury and have no further comments about this case. Thank you in advance for respecting the privacy of our school setting. Our main focus will continue to be educating students as it has been for the past 26 years.
