HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Hitting the links is a popular Father’s Day activity. If you want to surprise dad on Sunday with a tool to help his game, you don’t have to drop all your money on a driver.

Checkout Golfshot’s Golf GPS app. It’s free to download for Apple and Android devices.

Golf GPS is almost like a personal caddy, who just happens to know the stats on all the courses near you. Using the free edition of the app, you can see information on all your local courses including yardage from the tees and more.

As you plan a round, you’ll be able to access real-time GPS distances to the greens and satellite imagery for each hole.

You can also easily score yourself or a foursome and the app features golf news and offers on gear.

You can also pay to upgrade to the Pro version of the app.
