Jury: Roland Campos Guilty in Sexual Abuse Trial
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – A Madison County jury has found a man guilty in a trial involving sodomy and sexual abuse charges.
The jury returned with the verdict against Roland Campos just before 3 p.m. Wednesday. They found him guilty of two counts of sexual abuse of a child under 12 and two counts of sodomy. The victim was 5 years old.
The abuse happened between 2012 and 2013 in a Madison County home, according to prosecutors. Campos was dating the victim’s mother.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office learned of the case in 2013.
Circuit Judge Jim Smith ordered Campos immediately be taken into custody with a $500,000 cash-only bond. Sentencing is scheduled for July 7.
