HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Each year Dining With Friends brings together the community to raise funds for those affected by HIV.
This year is special — with a theme of ‘Pure Imagination.’ You’ll get to experience a wonderland created in the style of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. You will have a chance to meet the original Charlie Bucket, splurge on treats from Pizzelle’s Confections and Honey Pie Bakery, bid on art from over 40 local artists who have donated their work, and more. All these fun events and more will be held at Lowe Mill Arts & Entertainment on June 14 from 7 p.m. – 11 p.m.
Peter Ostrum, the original Charlie Bucket, will be the Master of Ceremonies for the night. The event is a “white out,” so plan to dress in your best clothes!
Honey Pie Bakery is making interesting desserts including edible tea cups, blueberry pie on sticks, choc dipped bacon roses, and much more.
A set designer has helped this year to turn Lowe Mill into Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. Scenes from the movie are being recreated for your enjoyment. Come see the chocolate factory, meet the original Charlie, and enjoy live music and dancing.
You can buy tickets online at diningwithfriends.org or by contacting the AAC at (256) 536-4700.
There will also be a silent auction with items including:
-A poster signed by Gene Wilder and Peter Ostrum
-Wooden bowls painted by Martina McBride, Proposition 8 Plaintiffs from California, and several other artists
-Getaways, including airline tickets
You can enter for a chance to win dinner with Peter Ostrum, too. Visit the AIDS Action Coalition’s Facebook to learn how to enter.
