Four injured in wreck at busy Decatur intersection

DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) – Four people were injured in a wreck at a busy intersection in Decatur on Monday.

It happened about 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of Spring Avenue and Beltline Road.  Three vehicles were involved, 2 trucks and a car.

A blue truck turned on its side, and two people inside were trapped.  Decatur Fire had to cut the roof off to get to them.

Two people in a gray car were also injured.

All four were taken to nearby hospitals by ambulance.  Emergency personnel initially called a helicopter but canceled it.

Decatur Police are investigating further.  They say the people who were injured should recover.

Traffic was re-routed around the busy intersection while crews cleared the scene.
