MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – Utility crews haven’t gotten much of a break this weekend as another round of storms caused outages in several areas Saturday night.
Huntsville Utilities said thousands of customers were affected by power outages across Madison County due to the storms that came through our area Saturday evening.
Here is the latest from Huntsville Utilities as of 2:00 p.m. Sunday:
“After continuous work, starting around 8:30 PM yesterday evening, Huntsville Utilities crews have restored power to all but approximately 30 customers affected by the damage caused to the system by a line of severe storms that passed through Madison County yesterday evening. The remaining associated outage is in South Huntsville and crews are on the scene working to restore power to those customers.
At the height of event, approximately 10,000 Huntsville Utilities customers were without power. By midnight, most of the problem areas had been isolated to where damage occurred, and crews went to work addressing each situation until repairs were made and power was restored.”
