JACKSON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT)- The Scottsboro Fire Department was called to a large house fire on Alabama Highway 79 Friday night. The home is located just outside the city limits near the Marshall County line.
WHNT News 19 has learned that the woman who lives there called 911 to report smoke coming from her air conditioning unit. By the time firefighters arrived the home was fully involved.
The home is three stories but the upper levels are now gone. Firefighters had to move back at one point because the frame of the home started to collapse.
Scottsboro called for backup from two Marshall County volunteer departments, Swearingen and Waterfront.
So far there have been no reported injuries.
